Description

The Comedy Central animated TV series, “South Park,” is looking for a passionate, artistic, and imaginative Storyboard/Design Artist with good drawing, design, and layout skills.  An emphasis on comedy is necessary.  Duties will include Storyboard, Background Design, Character Design, Cinematic Design, and various other mixed animation art design challenges.  Knowledge of computer design programs, i.e. Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Toon Boom Storyboard Pro, is a must.  Please note:  This is not a compositing job!  Expect an intense, creative, and rewarding production schedule.  Portfolio is essential at the interview. Only candidates living in the Los Angeles area will be considered.  Local interested applicants should apply with a resume, link to reel/portfolio, and story examples ASAP.

What is your name and your current occupation?
Christian De Vita and currently I work for TeamTo in Paris as storyboard supervisor of an 11 minuteX52 episode 3D animation comedy series.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
Not many crazy jobs before animation to be honest. I went straight from college into animation. As a student I worked as a waiter back in Italy for a while to save a little money for when I moved to the UK. But it wasn’t a crazy restaurant and I definitely wasn’t a crazy waiter.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
The two main films I worked on in the past 4 years: Fantastic Mr Fox, where I was Lead Story Artist, and recently Frankenweenie, as I had always been a fan of Tim’s work.

How did you become interested in animation?

What is your name and your current occupation? 
My name is David de Rooij and I am a freelance Animator/Storyboard Artist/Character Designer.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation? 
While I was doing Art School, I had a couple of little jobs like working at a supermarket, a zoo, a club. I also made a little comic for a division of a big Energy Company.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of? 
I haven’t been part of many big animation projects yet, but during my internship at Anikey Studios I got to work on a couple of very nice short animated films: “Paul and the Dragon”and “Little Quenton”!

How did you become interested in animation? 
I have always watched cartoons and even made my own comics and flipbooks. I tried to animate digitally in GIF Animator and Flash, drawing with my mouse! What is your name and your current occupation?
My name is George Pfromm and I am a freelance animator and illustrator, and a full time faculty member in the animation department at the New England Institute of Art.

 

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
Working the front desk at a walk in clinic for homeless schizophrenics and crack addicts in Seattle was a nutty one. I enjoyed almost every minute of that one truthfully.

 

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
Hands down, storyboard artist at Flying Rhinoceros Inc. in Portland Oregon in 1999 –2000. It was my first full time animation job and I have not worked with the level of talent like that since. I got a few glimmers of how special it was and how good everyone in the animation department was but I had no idea how rare that perfect storm of talent can be.

What would you say has been your primary job in animation?
I’ve mostly been a Director in my career.  I was lucky enough to start Directing really young.  I was 23 when I got my first job as Producer/Director of Mummies Alive.  I’ve been fortunate enough to remain as a Director pretty steadily since then.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I mostly worked in construction with my Dad but I did work as the assistant to the ice cream maker at Swenson’s when I was 13.  That was an awesome job and I ate a lot of cheap ice cream.  Still, to this day, I make some pretty good ice cream.  I delivered pizzas for Domino’s for a while in college and worked the graveyard shift at a toy factory.

Rémi Crosasso, I’m a Storyboard Artist since 2010.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
Well, I haven’t had any crazy job before animation but maybe the crazy thing is I managed to get into Architecture agency before getting into Achitecture school. So yes, Architecture drawghtsman mainly.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
The TV show The Crumpets definitely. Fun, original, speed, and a total mayhem!! But I also loved working on TV show Groove High, the first show I worked on! Sorry, emotional moment… and of course proud of what I’m doing now, working and living in Finland, storyboarding on Angrybirds Stella (and an other secret project… tataaaa).

Where are you from and how did you get into the animation business?
I’m from France. After one year studying animation at Volda, Norway, I got into animation meeting Fabienne Lievant, production director, at an Animation show. She made me wait one entire year before hiring me! And here I am.
