What is your name and your current occupation?
My Name is Benjamin Plouffe and I’m currently Co Art Directing a new and exciting Tv series “Penn Zero: Part time Hero” for Disney Television animation created by Sam Levine and Jared Bush.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
In high school I worked as stock boy and Dishwasher. During my college years I also worked a few summers as an Inventory counter. We would to go to all kinds of stores and just scan and count everything. The worst was counting huge bins of tiny screws at home depot.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
I’m really proud of the “Penn Zero: part time hero” show I’m working on right now. It’s the longest project I’ve worked on ( since 2011) and the one I’ve contributed the most too

Where are you from and how did you get into the animation business?

What is your name and your current occupation?
My name is Liron Peer (sounds like “Lee-Ron Pair”) and my current occupation is being a Freelance Animator / Character Designer / Illustrator.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I don’t think I had one, animation was something I knew I would be studying and working in after high school (and the army - that’s what all the people in Israel have to do at the age of 18 – men and women, I’m a women btw). The only 2 jobs I had before animation school where doing tech support in the army and then Quality Assurance for a software. So you could say I came from the computer world, though I always knew I’d be creating Art for a living.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
I didn’t get the chance yet to be a part of many projects (I’m only at the beginning of my career), so I guess I can say that I’m most proud of my own “Lady Ice” project and my “The Final Stand” project.

How did you become interested in animation?
As far as I remember I always drew, but frankly not professionally until I was about 18! Olatokunbo Betiku

What is your name and your current occupation?
My name is Olatokunbo Betiku, but most people call me “Ola.” I am the Co Founder of Outside The Box Vision, where I do a bit of everything. I am also the Creative Director at No Limit Forever.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I used to teach elementary art classes. Kids are great to work with but they get bored easily. The job always seemed to be more about dealing with rowdy behavior and less with teaching art. I did enjoy it most of the time and it also gave me plenty of practice for dealing with other professional artist in the future. Most of whom can be children at times.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
For the last few years our company along with Urban Born have been going to schools and promoting literacy and health to young students. I really liked taking our characters to schools and putting on shows for kids. I think it is important to do a bit of volunteer work and promote things like literacy and good health.

How did you become interested in animation?

Brianne VanPutte

What is your name and your current occupation?
My name’s Brianne VanPutte, and I work at Renegade Animation in the TD Department.

 

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
My first job in high school was as a part-time custodian. It was actually not a bad gig, it paid more than minimum wage (which is a high schoolers dream!), and I worked evenings with a friend so we made it a fun job (or at least as fun as cleaning bathrooms and picking gum out of carpets can be)! In college I was a tour guide for the Admission Office and a RA. Being an RA was by far the craziest job I’ve had.

 

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
I have a pretty fond place in my heart for my first internship on Dora the Explorer. It was a production internship, so I wasn’t doing artwork, but the team was really nice, and it was the first time I saw how a television show is created from start to finish.I also interned at Augenblick Studios on the second season of Ugly Americans and for BrainPOP before I started working at Curious Pictures on the fourth season of Team UmiZoomi. Those were all really fantastic experiences!

 

Where are you from and how did you get into the animation business?

Eduard Ersek

What is your name and your current occupation?
Hi, my name is Eduard Ersek and I currently work as an animation supervisor.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I’m not sure if I can call them crazy, but I used to be a tourist guide. My job was to take a smaller group of tourist around the place where I live and show them nature and culture. So one day I took them on a trip to the mountains the next we visited towns, castles or museums. For a short period I also worked as a translator.

What is your name and your current occupation?
Cedric Hohnstadt. I own an illustration studio where I specialize in character design.

 

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I’ve driven school bus, worked in a canning factory, and even done medical studies. Fortunately I’ve been able to make a living as an artist now for about fifteen years.

 

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
I’ve done advertising concept work for brands like Coca-Cola and Walmart; designed toys for Hasbro and Disney; designed characters for VeggieTales; and supervised the animation of Mr. Potato Head for the Hasbro website. I also illustrated a Gospel tract with over five million copies in print. You can read it at www.freecartoontract.com.  Recently I launched a Kickstarter called the Pose Drawing Sparkbook. It’s a tool to help artists put more life into their drawings and I’m getting a lot of great feedback on it. By the third day of the campaign it was featured in Kickstarter’s “Popular this week” section under the “Publishing” category and it received over 800 “likes” on Tumblr.
