What is your name and your current occupation?
My name is Nate Wragg and I’m currently working as a Visual Development Artist for Animation
What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
Well not many, paper route I guess isn’t that crazy.  I did work with my dad for a while as an assistant electrician.  I got to do lots of fun stuff like crawl through spider webs under really old houses, that could get pretty gross and creepy.
What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
Well Ratatouille was the first project I got to design on as a professional, so that’s one I’ll always be proud of.  It was both exciting and stressful making that transition from student to a working artist.  Designing the end credits with Harley Jessup, Teddy Newton and Andy Jimenez was way too fun to.  I couldn’t have asked to work with a better group of artists.  I also was excited to be apart of Toy Story 3.  Character designing on that film was also a real challenge, but in the end, I’m very happy with the characters I got to help design.

What is your name and your current occupation?
Pablo Leon; I am a freelance illustrator, visual development artist and I also do motion graphics animation for educational digital media.

 

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation? 
I have had a few. Stock supervisor for Levi’s, Sign Artist for Trader Joe’s, but one that stands out the most was the early morning shift I had as a loader for UPS. Almost everyone in my vicinity was rude, cranky, and sleep-deprived. Loading a truck for a very racist driver wasn’t my cup of tea either, so it didn’t last very long.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of? 
I worked on an animated info-graphic for the “Story of M-Pesa”. M-Pesa is kind of like the Western Union of Africa, but their business was conducted through the use of cell phones. It made it’s way through the World Bank, who liked it a lot, and that project has gotten me a lot more work as a result.
Where are you from and how did you get into the animation business?

What is your name and your current occupation?
Hello there! My name is Kenya Danino and I am a Freelance Visual Development Artist for BlueBells Animation Studio in India and I’ve worked with PennyFarthing Press Inc.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
Well, before I even thought about pursuing a freelancing career I did a lot of small commission work here and there since my high school days. In doing so I was making some pocket change as well as practicing to better my talent in areas I struggled in such as anatomy and perspective. And to think when I got to college I was going to pursue the sciences haha, totally different ball game. Wasn’t quite my cup of tea to say the least.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
Ah I’ve loved all my awesome opportunities! However, favorite project I have been and continue to be part of is working with the lovely Miss Karen Kiefer on her ongoing children’s book project entitled “The Misfit Sock.” The Misfit Sock teaches lessons of love, hope, inspiration and gratitude through a profound children’s story and introduces a wonderful children’s Christmas tradition. Karen is such a wonderful person in how she is and what she does with this project which talks to “misfit people.” They come in all colors and genders and try to fit in with society that views them as different but what they really have is a gift; a good reason why they don’t exactly fit the puzzle. You can’t lead what you fit in with. And that’s what Karen The Misfit Mama teaches.

Where are you from and how did you get into the animation business?

What is your name and your current occupation?
My name is Stephanie Olesh and I am currently a freelance visual development artist.

 

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
Nothing too crazy. I’ve been a cashier and a shelf stocker, and I can operate a copy machine. One summer I had a job reading submissions for children’s books at a major publishing house. Another time my job was to keep arcade machines filled with prize tickets.

 

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
I’m really proud for having worked on numerous projects at Gas Powered Games. Working there as a concept and UI artist was really the best postgraduate education I could have asked for. I loved working as part of that team, and I think we made some really unique work.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
Selling cloth washers and dryers, serving croissants and lattes at a bakery, and also I was in the Army guarding an island of hundreds inhabitants for two years.

 

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
I love everything that I was involved at Dreamworks, however my favorite project is “Rocky and Bullwinkle”, the new animation short from Dreamworks.  It was fun to work independently most of the time, from early visual development throughout the entire production.
