A beautiful piece reminiscent of something DreamWorks would do. Some great action sequences, really beautiful backgrounds and environments and a truly foxy girl to boot! A definite must watch.

Joe Sanabria

What is your name and your current occupation?
My name is Joe Sanabria and I’m an Art Director/Concept Artist. My most recent work was on Fallout:New Vegas and the DLC’s (Downloadable Content) Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues and Lonesome Road.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I’ve had a number of jobs before getting into the games industry and most were boring rather than crazy- lab technician at a photo lab, delivery guy at a cabinet shop and back in high school, cashier at a newstand.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
Two stand out for sure, Fallout: New Vegas and Skullmunkeys; there’s a huge following and great history to the Fallout franchise and what the team was able to achieve in the time we had was nothing short of amazing. In addition, Bethesda and the studio leads at Obsidian really trusted me and let me put my own spin on the look and feel of the game. The reception of the art by the press and folks was great and made all the hard work worth it.  On Skullmonkeys, I was able to do a number of different types of work, lighting design, level design and even some marketing art including the cover for the game. However, most folks will remember me as Joe Head Joe, a wicked level-boss where my head was animated , stop-motion by Ed Schofield. Every once in while a fan of the game will recognize my name, because it‘s a pretty rare name and they get so excited when they realize its me. Not too many folks can say they were a level boss.

How did you become interested in animation?
At an early age I loved cartoons– Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry, He-man, Thundercats and of course GI-Joe. As I got older the Disney and Bluth films really inspired me and got me interested in art. Unfortunately it never went farther than that until years later when I was out of college and I moved in with a couple of friends who where animation interns. They where working on Earthworm Jim under some great animators and late one evening I stopped by to say hi. Seeing that environment, Continue reading

What is your name and your current occupation?

My name is Heber Alvarado and I am working proffesionally as a Senior Artist with Microsoft Game Studios. I also freelance on film projects and teach character modeling at local schools from time to time.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I had a couple jobs in high school but the craziest one was working in a warehouse driving a pallet jack  (like a mini forklift of sorts) you were basically lifting heavy boxes all day and had to make a “daily quota” or you would be fired. Needless to say I was there about 5 days into it when I crashed my pallet jack into a large beam that had lots of boxes full of eggs stacked on top. It was a disaster , a domino effect if you will. After getting chewed out by the supervisor over it and having to clean it up I decided I was never going to work that type of job ever again, lucky to say I never did.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
Recently wrapped up a couple of cinematic trailers for a client (Saints Row 3 and Rift) that is pretty recent work and It proved very rewarding, got to work with close friends on them and learn a lot from them as well.  Before that it would have to be when Continue reading

What is your name and your current occupation?
My name is Constantine Krystallis and I am a Senior Character animator and Visual Effects artist in the Computer Game company in Athens, Greece.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?

Animation was always my goal so I tried to get into it immediately after college. I landed a job in an advertising firm doing mostly visualization and graphic design work. There was very little animation involved so I was on the look out for something else. I have also worked in an archeological site scanning pictures for the digital database. The place was so hot I had to place a wet cloth over the scanner for it to work because it was overheating.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?

I would say that my greatest fulfillment so far comes from my last personal short film which I created in 2008 for my MA of Animation course, called Mariza. It was my final project and has done very well in the festival circuit winning both national and international recognition and awards. It is always great to be in a theater and hear people respond and laugh with your work. I am also very proud of the current project I working for, Darkfall online. It is the first major attempt Continue reading

What is your name and your current occupation?
Don Cameron and I am currently background and prop supervisor on the Ultimate Spiderman at Film Roman.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
Probably Dead Space. When you consider the schedule we had the fact it was even completed was astounding. It was cool to be a part the The Batman Animated Series but I was a small part of that.

How did you become interested in animation?
Warner cartoons and Disney, wouldn’t the answer be pretty much the same for anyone my age?

Where are you from and how did you get into the animation business?
I was born in Glasgow Scotland. I got into animation from a chance meeting at the Christmas party DC Comics used to hold out here. It was at the Wilshire Abel Theater and I was introduced to Chuck Patton by Mike Vosburg. Chuck offered to Continue reading
