What is your name and your current occupation?
I’m Andrea Lazzarotti, i have 33 year old im 3D generalist, i working in the advertising field for national television in Italy. (TaxFreeFilm )
What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
mmm, I’ve never done animation, at least not to a great extent, otherwise i have do lots kind of works before, much different of my actual one.
What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
I enjoyed a lot to participate in creating a video game in 2004, ( DANGEROUS HEAVEN ) the team was young and small, but I had a lot to learn from that experience, it was the first serious work on which I am experimented.
How did you become interested in animation?
is a passion born slowly, from hobby .. but then has become increasingly important over time … eventually became a real job
Where are you from and how did you get into the animation business?
I’m Italian and i living in Italy, I start serious work in this area since 2004, before jumping from one small study to another doing work of little importance, often related to architecture then I was able to enter the professional field of video games, where I worked with several national and international video games distribution. What’s a typical day like for you with regards to your job?
my day begins in the morning and ends in the evening, always in front of the computer, are not rare weekend spent working and some night.
What part of your job do you like best? Why?
i enjoy so much the modelling, setup lighting, try the best setting for materials, rendering and compositing.
What kind of technology do you work with on a daily basis?
Actually using 3ds max and adobe creative suite ( photoshop, after effect ) in past years i used mental ray ad Brazil for thender engine but now i prefer vray for better and fast result.
What is the most difficult part for you about being in the business?
be updated …. what’s new in the field of computer graphics are daily and often do not always have the opportunity to stay up to date and try everything, you have to make a choice on what you want to pursue and what is less important.
In your travels, have you had any brushes with animation greatness?
Describe a tough situation you had in life.
I can describe a bad situation had to work on several occasions in the past year I almost did not complete the work due to many technical problems, it has happened several times to be close to delivery and do not know how to finish the job. Luckily in the end I’ve always managed to complete the requirements of learning a lot from these experiences.
Any side projects you’re working on that you’d like to share details of?
I really like working on projects personali.nella my gallery are many published personal work where I can better express what I want to represent any sensation no limitation.
Any unusual talents or hobbies like tying a cherry stem with your tongue or metallurgy?
hopefully soon be able to challenge themselves back into painting and drawing freehand as when I was at the Academy of Fine Arts, but the time is always short. I hope to be able to spend more time devoted to myself.
Is there any advice you can give for an aspiring animation student or artist trying to break into the business?
Well .. I would recommend this job only to those who truly love and who have an artistic background base, it is a job that absorbs a lot of energy and time, just loving you can go ahead in this field.
