What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
One of my rules in life is always have a cool job.  Mine have included lifeguard, New York City bicycle messenger, and U.S. Navy deep sea diver.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
I’m proud to have worked on all 4 Pirates of the Caribbean movies.  But I’m also excited about my recent project at Tippett.   “Ted” is directed by Seth Macfarlane, and it’s going to be hysterically funny.

Todd Sheridan Perry and I am currently CG Supervisor at Prime Focus in Vancouver, B.C.
What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I have never had a crazier job than working in the visual effects industry.
What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
I’m most proud to have been part of Lord of the Rings:The Two Towers, The Kite Runner, The Mist, 2012, Speed Racer, Chronicles of Riddick and Jeepers Creepers.  In that order.
How did you become interested in animation?
I’ve always been interest in animation, visual effects, and filmmaking in general.  Every since I can remember.

I was in the Dutch army (compulsory), counting its bolts, underwear and tanks / otherwise nothing much job-wise, trying to sell my cartoons with very little success.

Steve Nichols


What is your name and your current occupation?
Steve Nichols,  Animation Supervisor currently at Digital Domain on the Fox Feature Film “The Watch”.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I was a bit of a goth so I took a job at the local Funeral Home as a groundskeeper….not the best place to increase your social circle.  I also worked at a “mom and pop” Video Store Clerk and loved it.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
There’s a bit on each film.  But, I’d have to say working on District 9 was epic for me.  I’m so proud of everyone’s hard work, the director was Fantastic and the budget rivaled the craft service budget for Avatar.   Go team!
