What is your name and your current occupation?
My name is Arisman and I am a 2d key / inbetween animator, Background Artist, Concept Artist and Illustrator.
What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I have been a scavenger.
What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?There are so many exciting projects I’ve ever done. but I think, to realize my personal projects such as Fade Mirror, Dragon learn of Magic is the thing I’m proudest of.
Where are you from and how did you get into the animation business?
I am from Padang, Indonesia. I started my career from animation and paintings that I posted in animation groups. It makes some people interested in using my services. With the experience I gained from the studio in Batam, Indonesia. I decided to pursue a solo career and formed a studio engaged in 2d animation services.
What’s a typical day like for you with regards to your job?
worked as an animator makes me work till late at night, sometimes also take my weekend. but I have to be professional with this job. Â sometimes, I also make a schedule and process of animation itself and try to explain to clients. it gives me enough sleep and work efficiently.
What part of your job do you like best? Why?
2d key animator. because I like to draw and make a cool movement of the animation.
What part of your job do you like least? Why?
I was very disappointed when completing the animation or painting, the client suddenly changed character animation or concept. It makes me have to work from the beginning again.
What kind of technology do you work with on a daily basis, how has technology changed in the last few years in your field and how has that impacted you in your job?
I work using a tablet and some software like Krita, plastic animation, blender etc. I feel technology helps me in making 2d animation. In the past we used paper, and now just simply use a computer.
What is the most difficult part for you about being in the business?
relationships with many influential people is very important, because they can provide information about career opportunities, to convince the audience and investors. but a lot of talented artists who are not lucky in terms of relationships. so they are hard to develop his career. I think, the relationship is the most difficult part.
If you could change the way the business works and is run how would
you do it?
I don’t like if in the animation industry we must adhere to the theories or rules in animation, but some professionals still think this is important. I think this is enough to know not obeyed. I prefer to free up my mind to think creatively in the process of animation or the work produced. so that we can create innovation or efficiency of production  so that’s what I want to change.
In your travels, have you had any brushes with animation greatness?
Every person who ever worked with me was an extraordinary person.
Describe a tough situation you had in life.
When my father died was the hardest thing for me. because I have to work for living expenses.

Any unusual talents or hobbies like tying a cherry stem with your tongue or metallurgy?
I can imitate a sparrow whistling.
Is there any advice you can give for an aspiring animation student or artist trying to break into the business?
Actually, I am not worthy to give advice because I am still struggling as well. but so far, I always hold the principle is always the totality of the work.
