What is your name and your current occupation?
Shreeharsha Rao, Creative Director at Snipple Animation India.

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I worked in a Bread Factory and as a dish washer while i was in Canada to pay my College Fees .

What are some of your favourite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
Transformers Prime Tv Series (Tokyo/Japan) and a test project that we recently completed for Snipple Animation.

How did you become interested in animation?
Curiosity on how its done motivated me to move in to this field.

Where are you from and how did you get into the animation business?
I am from Mumbai, and I always believed in Chasing my Dreams in Animation Film Making, so i perused it to do what i believed in.

What’s a typical day like for you with regards to your job?
Work environment is splurging with creativity so i get to learn and share knowledge with artists at Snipple.

 

What part of your job do you like best? Why?
Taking creative calls.

What part of your job do you like least? Why?
Understanding the challenges with production, while trying to get the best creative output possible with race against time.

What kind of technology do you work with on a daily basis?
Technology is just a tool to help good creative minds to explore their creative sides.

What is the most difficult part for you about being in the business?
Not compromising quality over quantity and respecting the fact that at the end of the day delivery of a project on time is equally important.

In your travels, have you had any brushes with animation greatness?
Was lucky enough to work with some of the best artists from the Japanese Animation industry and learn from them.

Describe a tough situation you had in life.
I had let my father down when i decided to drop out of Main stream collage and move to animation, I do not regret taking this decision.

Any side projects or you’re working on that you’d like to share details of?
I was invited by the Tanzania by their Government, to talk about animation film making this project was funded by World Bank.

Any unusual talents or hobbies like tying a cherry stem with your tongue or metallurgy?
Wild life photography.
Is there any advice you can give for an aspiring animation student or artist trying to break into the business?
Dont be afraid of failures, it only makes u stronger.
