What is your name and your current occupation?
My name is Pert Badillo, I am currently doing comic freelance.

 

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I worked as a farmer. I worked in the construction. A plastic factory machine operator.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
The Prince of Egypt, The Road to El Dorado and Spirit.

 

How did you become interested in animation?
I grew up watching Voltes V, He-man, Thundercats and became my favorite TV shows.

Where are you from and how did you get into the animation business?
I came from the Philippines, I was then doing comics when my friend told me to take a test in the Australian animation company based in Manila. I passed the test and they trained me to do inbetweens.

What part of your job do you like best? Why? 
I like doing animation, It’s because I feel fulfilled when I see my drawings moved and have a life in the screen.
What kind of technology do you work with on a daily basis?
I used Photoshop and Manga Studio to do comics, Using Maya for 3D animation and Flash for 2D animation.

What is the most difficult part for you about being in the business?  

Difficult part is when you laid off and do other things for a living.

Is there any advice you can give for an aspiring animation student or artist trying to break into the business?
Work hard, practice, practice.
