What is your name and your current occupation?
My Name is Sumit Kumar and i am the 2D Animator/Illustrator / Owner of SKG Animation India Team

What are some of the crazier jobs you had before getting into animation?
I have worked with Press as a cartoonist and i worked in print media before entering in animation field.

What are some of your favorite projects you’re proud to have been a part of?
My Superboy Animation because that is made by me only without any help or support. and i am making another animation with very high quality individually.

How did you become interested in animation?
I have interest in animation since when i was child and from my childhood my dream was to be an Cartoonist/Animator.

Where are you from and how did you get into the animation business?
I am from Delhi, India and i research about this business alot, i struggle alot than i get into this animation business. now i become an Animator/Illustrator.

What’s a typical day like for you with regards to your job?
When I was learning composing part of animation at my Institute, and I was not understanding and my professor unable to teach me that, and to learn composing I practiced a lot at my computer, with notes and I learned that in 3 days completely.

What part of your job do you like best? Why?
The Illustration part of my job is the best part, because this is the god gifted talent in me and in every animator/illustrator, because making of characters, backgrounds, etc is the actual talent and the actual thing, which is very important to make an perfect animation because if characters and background will not be perfect so animation can not be perfect and up to the mark as i believe and observe.

What part of your job do you like least? Why?
Nothing in animation job which i dont like, i like every part of animation, when i work on an animation project my interest is in every part of animation even i enjoy every part.

What kind of technology do you work with on a daily basis?
I use Latest technology always, i keep my self updated with latest technology according to requirement runs in Market Place. Basically I use Adobe Photoshop, Flash, Premiere, Illustrator, Light box.

What is the most difficult part for you about being in the business?
“Research part” of Entering in animation business is actually very difficult part of this business, Because its very hard to find a right place from where you can enter in this business. I already entered in this business but still i am searching right way in this business to move with.

In your travels, have you had any brushes with animation greatness?
Yes i always keep my bag with me which always filled with all illustrations work tools and with my Laptop for animation work.

Describe a tough situation you had in life.
As I am a common man so every day is tough day and every situation is tough situation for me, but I make it simple and lighter from my lots of efforts till end of the day. Because this is life.

Any side projects or you’re working on that you’d like to share details of?
Yes recently i have done a marketing animation for a beauty product company, and i have made an animation using their product, and right now i am working on an music video project that will be live soon on My YouTube Channel “skganimation”.

Any unusual talents or hobbies like tying a cherry stem with your tongue or metallurgy?
Not at all.

Is there any advice you can give for an aspiring animation student or artist trying to break into the business?
Yes, i am sharing my experience so the new students & artists can learn from ” I learn from my mistakes always, and try to make my work perfect everyday. And I believe in myself and my efforts, because this is the thing which will take you in right way always.
